Visit from Jollibee Chairman and Founder Mr. Tony Tan Caktiong deepens relationship of Jollibee with community leaders and representatives in Illinois.
15 SEPTEMBER 2016, CHICAGO, USA – Representatives from Jollibee Skokie, the brand’s first Midwestern location and home to the world-famous Chickenjoy, today handed over a check for $25,000 to the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital. To express its appreciation for the warm welcome Jollibee received from the Chicagoan community, the brand wanted to give back to those who need it most. Being a company that values family and children, Comer Children’s was a natural choice for the donation.
Jollibee was represented by Chairman and Founder, Mr. Tony Tan Caktiong, as well as CEO Mr. Ernesto Tanmantiong. Mr. Tan Caktiong personally expressed his thanks to the staff and representatives from the Skokie community for the successful opening last July, and led the group in the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the first store in the Midwest. Ms. Karen Stratton, Vice President for Women’s and Children’s Services of Comer Children’s, received the $25,000 donation check from senior Jollibee executives, and conveyed her appreciation for Jollibee’s generosity and contribution.
The second half of the day’s activities took place at Comer Children’s, where Jollibee representatives distributed Jollibee toys and the delicious Peach Mango Pies to the hospitalized children and their families. To share further Jollibee’s brand of joy, the Jollibee mascot toured the hospital and did the signature “My Bestfriend Jollibee” dance. The day ended with an art activity wherein the Jollibee representatives did syringe painting with certain kids at Comer Children’s.
